My dear old grandmother gave my dad a nice Ruger bolt action hunting rifle with a Redfield scope. Very nice except for one small problem, the bolt is missing. It belonged to either my step-grandfather or my uncle. One is dead, one is normally drunk. She says that the bolt had been stored seperately in a sock, and it has been mis-placed. This story sounds strange to anyone who doesn't know my grandmother. Just to be sure, my dad gave the serial number to a police-chief friend of his and the gun doesn't appear to be stolen. The question is what are the chances of replacing the bolt if the original one can't be found?
