Boise ID -- Anyone up for a group trip to The Patriot?

Not that anyone else in here is waiting for the movie or anything.. but what say those of us in the area make a group thing of it? Hey, we're gonna see it anyhow -- might as well do it with each other and get that chance to "put faces to names." Yes?

Kaylee, my wife and I want to see it. We have a medical situation with my mother in law, so our time is somewhat restricted. If we can make it, we will. Plans?? J.B.

When? I work swings Thur - Sat (3pm to 11pm) and then Sun-Tue work graves (11pm to 7am). If you say tuesday night (around 5pm to ?) or Wednesday day or night then I am game. And if the theater is that big one (21 screens or something) then I know where it's at. I'm prob. the only one with "weird" hours but will try to make it if at all possible. USP45usp

Well --

It opens this coming Wednesday night, if I got my dates right. Sounds like it'll work you USP -- how about you Jay?

And yeah, I think that big theatre at the Spectrum (Edwards, right?) is playing it. I could give 'em a call early next week and get showtimes.

See y'all there!

Sounds good to me. Just need the time and date to shore it up. I will make every attempt to get there. How are we going to recongize each other? I've never been to the theater so I don't know the inside. Is there a place to meet inside? Thanks.

Alrighht.. time and date--

Date: Wednesday, June 28th.

Location: Multiplex in the Spectrum, Overland & Cole,
Hwy 84, exit 50 (I think)

I'll call 'em this monday -- they should have the schedule ready by then. As big as they are, they tend to show the big new films once an hour, so it should be pretty easy to arrange. And yeah, they have a big lobby.

I'm thinking 7-ish.. how's that work for folks? Also, for those that are interested, the Cracker Barrel across the parking lot has gooooood southern cookin'.. thought you might be up for that USP. (you're GA, right?)

As far as recognizing each other, well.. we could all bring rifles. That'd stand out. *heh*

Or we could just wait for each other in the middle of the lobby/ticket buying area -- when you go through the first set of doors there's a couple "upcoming" signs back to back surrounded by benches in the very center of the area. Sound like a good rally point?

Or for those interested in dinner -- an hour earlier on the porch of the restaurant?

Yep, I lived in GA for about five years. The cracker barrel was one of my fav. restaurants. I could use a break from work - sleep - work - sleep - work. I'm going to ask a friend if she wants to go if that's okay. She lives in Boise and she's had the same luck as I've had - If we both didn't have bad luck we'd have no luck at all. She's a beginner (well, she hasn't actually fired a gun yet but she wants to learn) and my roomate and I haven't set up a time yet. I'm still trying to get time to join the Blacks Creek Range and use their facilities. I wonder if the theater will allow me to strap on my .44 cal. BP pistol; in respect for the theme of the movie :).

I'm hoping to head down to Black's Creek Range tomorrow (Sunday) to try out my new P11. I was under the impression it was a public range. Phone message indicated $5/person/day.

Anyway, Wed is my birthday and my mom's coming in town that day, too, so I'm going to have to pass :(.

EricM: Happy upcoming birthday! Yes, it is a free (open to public) range. I wish to join so I can get involved in all they do and get extra bins from it by getting a key (since I am off on wednesdays and they are closed). They do alot of great things around the area... they host gun shows, they have competitions each month (mostly BP) but it sounds like fun. Just have to get my own act together to start enjoying life again. I would volunteer to come out to the range and have a great day of shooting but I switch back to graves on Sunday.. which means while you're having fun... I'll be snoozing my time away.. :(. Again, Happy Birthday!!

thanks, USP. It turns out I didn't make it to the range today. I'm hoping to make it to the range this week, especially with my mom in town. She's quite the left-winger, but I think she would enjoy doing some shooting. If the local group wants to arrange a meeting at Black's Creek Range sometime, I would be up for it. Enjoy the movie.

Okay guys -- got a problem. I stopped by Edwards yesterday to see if I could get show times. As it turns out -- I dont know if the website was wrong, or if it's just opening later in Boise than elsewhere, but opening day here is Friday the 30th, rather than Wednesday the 28th.

So -- we can either still go opening night, Friday, or takle it next wednesday. Anybody got a preference?

In a way, this has worked out. My car tires were knifed this morning at work, so my next paycheck (and others after it) will have to go toward tires. Unless I'm lucky enough (ya right) to win the lotto then I'm back on track. I can't believe that this happened, still in shock. Right now, if I find the *%^(&(E&%R that did this... well, maybe it would read bad in the newspaper. I'll get back with you'll when I can. USP45usp

USP45USP, really sorry to hear about some pukehead knifing your tires. Where were you that that happened?? Cops have any leads?? Thanks. J.B.

I was at work at the time. The company basically said that it wasn't a concern to them that an employee was vandalized on their property (they also ban concealed carry, with or without a permit for employees only). I'm quitting tomorrow (today). As for the police, same story, they took a report, told me not to expect anything, have a nice day (night). I doubt that they will look into it since they are so small (the size of the department). I really can't blame them, they are after all history takers. I did confront the "suspects" that I think did it and did leave them something to think about... something about dark alleys and I hope the person that did this has the knife on them at the time. No threats mind you. I'm not really that mad about the tires, just irks me that someone who thinks they have something against me taking the cowards way out. also, I hope that I am able to meet everyone before I leave, did get some good news, got accepted to the University of Oregon, starting the summer session in about a month. Hi all!

First off -- movie. What a pain. Edwards Box office told me last weekend it wouldn't open till Friday. Their phone system and website now says it started tonight. Bummer.

ANYHOW.. I reckon I'll be there tomorrow (Thursday) evening for the 7:30 showing. Other times are as follows:
100-430-800
1200-315-700-1015
1230-400-730-1100
200-530-900

For those (that didn't already get it together and go tonight) that still want to meet, I'll be at Cracker Barrel at 6:15, and in the theatre lobby at 7:00 or so. (I'll be the tall brown-haired chick reading in the lobby)

Second -- sorry to hear about your tires USP.. was it the GA plates, or just folks being jerks? Or do you know?

Last -- just got my letter from the Sherriff's dept saying my CWP was approved! God I love this state... but how to hide that .45? *heh*

Anyhow -- hope to see some of y'all soon.

Kaylee, our medical situation deteriorated radically early Thursday morning, when my wife's mother died. Obviously, couldn't make the flick.

Hope all had a good time and enjoyed it. Perhaps next time...? J.B.

Jay --

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss -- I do wish you and your wife well. God be with you.

As it turned out though, I missed everybody to -- perhaps others were just smarter than me and went on the 28th.

Anyhow -- I'm up for another try, or a meet down at the Black's Creek, either one. Takers?
