Boeshield T-9 for long-term storage?

I have several guns that I don't expect to use for several years. They are stored in a gun safe with a silica gel dehumidifier in the safe. The guns are coated inside and out with Boeshield T-9. This product was developed by Boeing for protecting aircraft exposed to weather. Any reason why it would not be a good choice for long-term gun storage?

Thanks in advance.

I've used it on outboard motors and inboard outboards motors for a long time with good results, but never tried it on guns. I don't see any problem it would cause .

Rblack: Thanks for your reply. I couldn't imagine a problem but I thought I'd check it out.

I have seen a post here on TFL in which it is warned that a hard, waxy coating will develop on the protected surface.

I use Boeshield on stainless guns with no ill effects, but they are ferequently used, not in long-term storage.

Consider the Bianchi protective bags, which come with a lifetime guarantee.

I don't think Bianchi is making their blue bags anymore. The other alternatives are No-Rust bags and also Kleenbore is selling these things now, too. I used the Bianchi bags for years and they work extremely well. I bought some of the Kleenbore bags and they work great too.

These bags have rust inhibitors embedded in the plastic and last for years. I have stored well lubed guns and metal parts in them for up to three years in high humidity, high temperature salt air for three years at a whack with no problems at all.

They don't get a lot of press, but they work - extremely well.
