Bodyguard problem

2nd box of ammo and its jams. Cant lock the slide back! Long story short the little screw that holds the lazer in backed out and was catching the slide. All it did was bend that screw. Took it back to dealer and had to send it back in. S&W wont just send out the screw. Oh well!

That is a common occurrence with the Bodyguard 380. Mine started to back out too but I noticed it while I was cleaning the pocket lint out of it. Now I just periodically check it. Problem solved. It's not a gun I would be very enthused about having to use in a SD situation but I just can't ever find an excuse not to carry it, even in gym shorts. I'd much rather carry my SP101 all the time but that's just not ideal seeing as how my pants would be around my ankles in certain instances.

Just another problem brought on by adding a useless gimmick to an otherwise pretty good gun.

Well said.

I bought mine when they first were introduced to the market before there was a "M&P" model and a laser-less model. I definitely would've gone with the laser-less if that had been an option at the time. Lasers (to me) are just silly in general

Ours never backed out, but I put a drop of locktite on them when the problems first were reported. S&W should fix it pronto for you and at no cost as they should. Ours, as reported in another thread here, have been great guns. No problems and 100% reliability, and they feed JHP's just fine.

The laser is useless in my opinion; the button is just too far forward to reach when you'd realistically use it. That said the laser-less model is probably a better buy especially if it's cheaper.

When you get it back, I'll predict that you'll like the gun for its intended use.

Aside from the 12-pound trigger pull - I really like my BG380. It has been 100% reliable - although I have less than 50-rd of hollowpoints through it (just shy of three boxes of ball ammo). Mine has the laser and I have to agree that it is next to worthless - I can hit better with it using the sights versus the laser.

If S&W would address the crummy trigger in a new version I think it would be a near-perfect small carry pistol...

I sold mine because it was so unreliable. Tons of jams and fte,ftf ect.

Bought a Sig P938 for the wife and I and both have hundreds of rounds with no issues

An added note

As long as we had to send the BG in to S&W for the repair I gave my wife the new Glock 43 I recently got. She shot it for just abit and announced I want one of these instead! Ordered another one yesterday.
