My wife got these pics tonight in our bog behind our business.

She was shooting with a Nikon.... but carrying a Bersa T380, thank God!

Maine has an estimated population of around 3000 bobcats. Maine has an area of about 35,000 square miles. So, 1 bobcat per 11.4 square miles.

Not too many! G'day.

Great pics, to see a cat like that and get pics is priceless. I've only seen them running in front of a hound or across the road when I'm driving. Where are you located I live in Newburgh but I run cats anywhere I can find fresh tracks. I believe there are more cats around now than there were in the 60s and 70s but there are more people hunting them used to be you could pass up tracks to look for some fresher then go back to run those but now when you go back someone is on the ones you passed up. Again thanks for sharing those great pics.

Cool! Great pictures too.

Don't know how often you see them, but my wife and I saw our first one last summer. I live in burbs of the northern part of Kentucky and there is a lot of wooded areas around, but still I never expected to see a wildcat in my backyard. Was really pleased to have the chance to see one.

Those pics are great!

We still have them here in Appalachia but are as rare as hen's teeth.

I like the way she sort of framed the first picture with the fallen limbs.

The folks at Nat Geo have sat for days to get a pic like that. :):):):)

Parts of Texas are overloaded. Our deer-lease rancher went on an extensive trapping campaign one year after suffering a lot of depredation on his goat herd. In his east pasture of some 3,000 acres, the trapper took some 32 or 34 bobcats. The next season, the kid crop was an additional 200 goats.

I was sitting here at the computer one afternoon and had Robert Kitty amble across the porch. I guess he smelled bird scent because of the hanging feeder at the eave.

Where are you located

I live in Farmington, Gunn. But if I told you where you might shoot this bobcat, my wife would shoot me!

Here are some of the other inhabitants. And hunting is off limits, even for me! :(

This one's a MONSTER, a full head and shoulders taller than the other two.

Martin I don't need to run that far LOL that must be a cat that Larry and his brother Scott and their Lightfoot hounds missed thought they had them all chased out of Farmington and had to go to Strong and beyond. Larry is a first class taxidermist and guide you know him? "Swamp behind business" the whole state is swamp this summer last week went brook fishing, go figure brook fishing in late July, fishing was great we were throwing 10 inchers back but the mosquitos were so thick my hound said he had to keep running and chasing just to keep ahead of them. Once again tell your wife great pics.
