I use my Smith 637 frequently in a Mika pocket holster. I have found that when I practice drawing it, the hammer spur catches on the top of my pocket. So, I am thinking of removing the hammer spur to eliminate the problem. I normally practice shooting the revolver double action and rarely if ever use the single action mode, so nothings lost there. My question is that with the loss of the spur, the hammer is a bit lighter. Is there a reliability problem with the lighter hammer in setting off the round? Will I get light strikes & FTF? The hammer spring is factory original.
