ok so I'm on the last stage of my 58 conversion project. I got some bronells oxpho-blue today I applied the first coat by rubbing the cold blue on the port with a cotten ball for 60sec and it looks good. now should i wait a while before i try to get it darker of just keep rubbing it on now before it sets up? any advice is welcome first time here:o

Guess it's too late now.:D I've never used that but usually buffing with 0000 steel wool between coats is the norm

A bunch of your conrades are coming after me! Try GM Gun creme blue. That is if you are not satisfied. I have blued many of barrels and one coat after rensing w/ distilled water and then applying 2nd coat saturated w/ ballestol and swabing execss w/ cue tips-leave over night. then one more bluing app w/ A & 1 oil the 2nd night and clean gently w/ swabs next morning. Works for me.
