So...because they can't keep traditional locks operational the solution is to put in more expensive harder to repair and replace systems that also infringe on general privacy?

Are there even scanners that could hold up to that volume of use under real world conditions?
 
He came up with this idea (or rather, came out with it) during a Q&A about restrictions a judge had imposed on NYC's Stop and Frisk program...
