Bloomberg for President

I heard on the O'reilly talk radio show today that the gun grabbing, election buying, Mayor of NYC is considering a run for the presidency.

He supposedly will use $500,000,000 of his own money to run as a third party candidate and the same tactics that got him elected in NYC. :barf:

$500,000,000 seems a little far fetched.

If memory serves, he spent nearly a hundred billion of his own money on his mayoral campaign. He's worth a few billion. I'm sure he could afford five hundred million for a presidential campaign.

Either way why are you stressing this?

I'm assuming it's because of his anti-gun stance. You'd think he'd be happy about this, though, because he'd probably have to run as either a Democrat or an independent/third-party. Seeing as he's unlikely to get either major party's nomination, the latter is more likely. Based on his political stances, he seems more likely to split Democrat voters than Republicans. Overall I'd say his presence would be a net gain for whoever the Republicans end up running. So as long as the Republicans run somebody pro-gun, this would seem like a good thing for second amendment rights.

Another One

Whatever the answer might be (and I keep my own counsel, for the most part), another rich white guy looking for power might not be it. Besides his radio news network, and east coast people, is he really all that well known outside the NY metro area anyway. We're NJ folk so we hear him enough, but, outside us?

Get with the cloning, exhume Teddy Roosevelt and let's see what the gun laws are like then, I say in half-jest!

"...is he really all that well known outside the NY metro area anyway."

We know about him in Pennsylvania, always sending "Undercover" agents into gun shops to buy guns.
