(Blood Pressure Alert - MMMs) The Apple Pie Award Goes to AT&T for taking a stand!

I've been lagging - now I'm dropping them for long distance.

The Apple Pie Award Goes to AT&T for taking a stand!

After seeing an NRA infomercial on his local cable channel, a St Louis Chapter member sent a letter to AT&T Cable Services. AT&T said that they had bought a package of infomercials from the National Booking Company and they were not aware that the NRA ad was part of that package.

The company immediately removed the ad from St. Louis television stations, and specifically said that they would not buy NRA infomercials in the future.

AT&T also gave the Chapter the name of GRTV in Los Angeles, the largest booking agency in the country that sells infomercial packages, including the one of which the NRA piece was part.
Once contacted, GRTV responded by saying they would not renew the contract with the NRA infomercial. Bravo AT&T and GRTV. And kudos to our savvy and persistent St. Louis MMM Chapter!

You have a computer.

Do you also have a microphone?

I assume you have speakers.

Then www.dialpad.com is all you need to send AT&T to the depths of hell!

Free long distance anywhere in the US! I have been using it since October and have never been charged just as they state they wont! Check it out!

"The company immediately removed the ad from St. Louis television stations, and specifically said that they would not buy NRA infomercials in the future".

I was always under the impression that infomercials were broadcast under the same conditions that affected commercials, namely that the air time was bought and paid for by the party producing it.
If the NRA paid to air this infomercial, then the station should be obligated to broadcast it.

Considering AOL's and ATT&T's anti-gun stance, any gun owner who is still signed up with AOL and uses ATT&T for any of it's services is a damm fool.

Howdy, All! I, too, recently cancelled my AT&T account when I found out that they are decidely anti-self defense. I am sorry to say that I ever had anything to do with them :-0 and I have taken a stance to investigate to some degree every company I do business with to find out if they are pro or anti. I'd suggest everyone contact www.keepandbeararms and find out the information they have on a little known long distance carrier that actually give back 10% of each monthly bill to the KABA folks whom are VERY proactive and Pro-Gun.

Best Regards! :-)

http://www.marathoncom.com gives 15% of your LD bill to any pro gun org of your choice... and they are out of Kennesaw Georgia, home of the ordinance that requires all head of households to own and know how to use a fiream :D

MarathonCom is my choice!
Because they not only give 15%, are nice salespeople, but they are willing to roll up there sleeves and get down in the trenches right along side us.... what more could you ask for from a LD carrier..... Put your money where your mouth is folks :D

Under other topics, questions or concerns about at&t's policies or practices.
I e-mailed to as if this was true. Saddly I had no idea at&t was anti-gun, or else I would have canceled everything from them a while back.
Have they shown they were anti-gun before, or is it just this incident?

My email to AT&T is sent.

Put this out to all the email lists you have...
I dont want any gun owner patronizing AT&T.
We got Walmart to change its song, Kmart to turn around... We got S&W's pant down to it's ankles and getting a good old fashion Daddy's belt spanking...
The Million Mom March had only 2 or 3 thousand members in DC...
We have 80 Million gun owners.
We can bring AT&T some pain.

O.K. so once I drop MediaOne / ATT who should I get high speed internet access from ?

I just found out about AT&T today. I have since switched over to Marathon and my brother-in-law will be doing so as well. Spread the word, people!

From www.marathoncom.com/about.html :

"Marathon USA services two market segments: the pro-gun / pro-hunting community and the general population of small businesses nationwide. The first segment constitutes about 90% of our current customer base and is very stable."

I had no idea and I'm a little disappointed that I haven't heard about this before. I guess it was a secret. Oh well I'm there even though we haven't been att customers for quite some time. Still on AOL though but I just got my JUDO CD in the mail so I could install it and AOL will soon be history. They will be advised as to the reason for my leaving also.

AT&T must be punished. Drop them like a jammed Lorcin and switch. Tell them why.

And keep writing reps and donating to RKBA orgs!!

Bloody hell. I'm stuck on TCI/AT&T for cable, and use AT&T/@Home for cable modem ISP. Folks I need some ideas on how to keep the capabilities I have now, but dump AT&T like a hot rock.
