Blogging For Bolton

John Bolton

I just wanted to know if John Bolton is still the Undersecretary of State? There was controversy in the Senate on not appointing him for another term.

No, he is still U.N. Ambassador, however, he will not be after January 2007, as he opposes the Small Arms Treaty which the Globalists feel they are behind on by two years.

So Bush will send some Rudy Guliani type which the Senate will actually allow a vote on, since this Senate will not give to Bolton.

They will demand someone who supports only the military and paramilitary police agencies having access to firearms, and this president will give it to them in an effort to be "Bi-Partisan" because he is a "Uniter, not a Divider" according to his past statements.

The situation as I understand it:

Bolton is still the ambassador to the U.N.
He did not have to be confirmed since he is serving at the President's convenience, yet Dubya has decided to place his confirmation on the table. The Dems will not confirm him, so look for him to be ousted in the coming weeks.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I applaud this move.

Bush was going to put him up before the new Senate takes over - he might have done it, I'm not sure. The current Senate is under Republican control, in theory the same party as President Bush purports to lead. However, Lincoln Chafee said he would join the Democrats and block the nomination. Mr. Chafee is also a Republican, supposedly the same party as the President. It's nothing short of amazing what goes on back there.

What was I thinking? That was his old position. Undersec. of State. I meant Ambassador to UN. So, he is not going to continue his position if the Senate has their way? How about if Pres. Bush keeps him there by executive order?

Here is an interesting tidbit...

Bolton was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize along with Ken Timmerman February 7, 2006 by Sweden's former deputy prime minister and Liberal party leader Per Ahlmark "for their repeated warnings and documentation of Iran's secret nuclear buildup and revealing Iran's "repeated lying" and false reports to the International Atomic Energy Agency

Bolton..........

....needs to get a job like the rest of us....what he's qualified to do, I don't know....pompous, arrogant, smug....your basic full time arse hole he is..good riddance I say.

I hope they do replace him with Leach. The only 'gun control' stuff he's supported is the 72 hr. background check. Not that that has anything to do with ambassadorship to the UN.. On top of that, he's actually qualified for the job (unlike Bolton). Maybe you see his refusal to march in lockstep with a party as a liability, but I don't.

What? You don`t want to support him to help keep the UN out of US affairs?
No, I don't want to support him because he's a party drone and completely unqualified for the post. If we want to separate ourselves from the UN then we should just go ahead and do it.

The 2 threads were close enough in content, that I have merged them.

When I look at the UN, IANSA and then look at my gunsafe... Well, I can't think of a better man at the UN than Bolton. I shudder to think of the consequences had a democrat Ambassador been present during these anti-gun UN conferences.

Those of you that don't like Bolton as our UN Ambassador, need to think through the ramifications for our gun rights should the IANSA get its way.

agree with you 100%...he did a good job this past summer against rebecca peters and the other anti's...

God forbid someone actually vote based upon their beliefs instead of the party line. And while Bolton might be great at protecting our dear dear gun rights abroad, I just don't find him that diplomatic.

Wow I just looked at Iansa's site. What a bunch of misinformation. But it was nice reading their headline:

"US elections show gun control is not a vote-killer"

The fact that they're having to state it means that it's something they're having to defend against, and in turn something that a great many people are already thinking. It IS a vote killer.

There site is worth a look though, if nothing else than to see them trumpet their cause as a sucess in countries like China, whom last time I checked was a domineering pinko country. (At least we're domineering capitolists!)
