Blind Hog Finds Acorn

Just got back from a week at the Nationals at Friendship Indiana. Rain every day. Thousands of people. Good to see old friends again and meet new. I had
decided to shoot the 100 yard match this year. I got lucky and shot a 81X which
was good enough for a gold 1st place medal. I shot this with open sights, one
hand un-supported . I used my caplock 32 caliber and 15 grains Swiss FFF.
Yes, there was wind about 5-10 mph Rain off and on. First shot was the "X"
Second place was a score of 70. Believe me that target is very small at 100 yards. Anyway a great Farthers Day gift. I was very happy.

Thanks Rookie. You all have to watch out for this guy "Rookie". He is not a
show off like me . He is waaaaaay to modest and is not a "Rookie" as he lets on.
He lets everybody else shoot, Sneaks in on the last day . Lays it on them and
walks away with the National title. Ha, blew your cover now :D
No kidding, a real nice guy and fantastic shooter.

Congrats on that score. A 5 to 10 mph cross wind can move a .50 caliber rifle ball several inches at 100 yards, although, strangely enough, when you shoot at sub sonic pistol velocities, wind drift actually goes down.

Meanwhile, at the TMLRA shoot in Brady TX, David Nueces asked me if he could borrow my 10-Ring flintlock pistol for his pistol match, I said "sure" and he goes ahead and beats me!

Congratulations to TFL's own. I wanted to go to Friendship, but my summer class was concurrent with the NMLRA Gunbuilding Workshop (and no Workshop, no Friendship).
