ok i have a situation, i know a 15 year old child that wants a desert eagle or a 1911 8mm blank firing gun, should he get it? or not ? and why ??

I can tell you if the 15 year old should get one of the 8m/m blank firing pistols or not. However, they look very real and could cause the owner of such pistols many problems if carried where someone would mistake them for a real firearm. The least of these problems would be arrest. The blanks are very loud and wearing ear protection would be required while firing them.

My $0.02.

well the parents would pry keep it under lock-and-key and just treat it like a live gun. the family usually goes to the mojavy desert a few times a year snd does target practice and thats all they do.

Me thinks that a gun like that belongs in the hands of a prankster. Encourage him to save his money until he's mature and educated enough to own a real gun. No flame intended, what's the use of wasting good money on a peice of junk that might get you in trouble with the law, or shot?

As an officer of the law, I think a 15 year old with a gun that looks that real and makes a load noise (which is like a gunshot) is a diaster waiting to happen. Many cops have shot people waiving fake guns around. I personally do not want to be in that position, sooo my advice is no way. I remember how dumb I was at 15.

Example of how idiotic people can be...
A friend of mine got a call of some guy walking down the street with a gun. My friend pulls up, sees the guy and orders him (at gun point) to drop it. The hero of our story points the gun in the air and pulls the trigger and the gun goes bang. My friend said he almost shot the guy. Gun turns out to be a cap gun. The guy said "Gee officer, I was trying to show you it wasn't real...." This was an adult.

Blank Firing Guns are almost, and in most cases exact copies of real guns. Like mrat mentioned, in the hands of an irresponsible kid (or adult) it can be a disaster.
I own 2 of them and never had a problem with them because I treat them just like real guns.
They are pretty good as training aids and are a good subtitute for teaching good safety habits before transitioning to real guns.
