blackpowder scopes

I have a Lyman blackpowder rifle that I would like to put a scope on. I obviously can`t use a regular scope because the hammer is in the way. I need one with an extended eye relief. Can anyone give me some ideas on what brand, make and model would be a good choice?

Navy Arms and Dixie both sell brass telescopes for smokepoles. You may also want to consider an intermediate eye relief scope (like the ones those "scout" rifles use).

I am not sure that the barrel dimensions are the same, but Thompson/Center makes an 'intermediate' barrel mount for their guns which positions a scope slightly offset to clear the hammer of a sidelock gun. It might be that this mount could be adapted to your Lyman rifle. You could check with tech@tcarms.com. slabsides
