Blackhawk cartridge ejection...

Can I do anything to my Blackhawk cylinder (it's clean...not dirty) to help with cartridge ejection? Many get stuck and can be ejected with the ejector rod, but some simply fall out cleanly when the gun is tipped.

How hot is your load? You could be experiencing the warning signs of excessive pressure.

Wait, I just reread your post. If they are easily extracted by the ejector rod, that's just the nature of the beast. You might do some experimenting to see if the rounds that fall out are always in the same chamber. Some cowboy action shooters have their chambers polished to facilitate this.

Remove cylinder and take a 357 mop, put in electric drill, lighty coat a little valve ginging compound and slowly drill each cylinder hole. Don,t use high speed just slow. Do each one clean, shoot and mark and repeat sticky cylinders.

I've done that several times- polish the chambers lightly as described and it works just fine. Rugers often have a chamber or two with rough spots but it doesn't keep them from shooting into 1-1.5" at 25 yards.

DON"T USE...

valve grindibg compound, either try a new brass bore brush or slot the end of brass / Aluminum ros and insert a piece of the WHITE 3M stoch-brite pad, (from Body shop) and slowly spin that inside the chambers, Use plenty of WD40 as lube and to clean the residue.
Have you shot a lot of .38 Spl's in a .357MAg chamber, then you might have a debrie ring and the longer .357 are habging up.
I have a friens that shot indoor .22 maatches with S&W M17, with .22 shorts,
when he use .22LR, he had hand-ups.
