Black Powder Pistol ID

I just bought a used Black Powder pistol and it needs some parts. So I need some help identifying exactly who manufactured this bad boy.

I know its a replica of some king form Italy.

Markings:

Below the Cylinder:

A star in a circle under a coat of arms
AB in a box (which I know is the date marking)
A star in a circle over PN

On The Barrel
CAL .44 NAVY MODEL - MADE IN ITALY
Black Powder Only

Under the push rod arm:
C.O.M - GARDONE - V.T

The Cylinder has engravings of sail boats.

Any help would be appreciated

Going by the shape of the grip frame I'm going to guess it to be ASM. It should have a manufacturers logo on it somewhere. Maybe on the bottom barrel flat close to the frame.

OOPS, missed where you said COM. Yep, COM is an unknown altho Sebou had a plausible explanation for it I think. Parts will be hard to come by unless you can make something else work.

I am fairly certain that C.O.M. stands for Contrini Officina Mechanica which roughly translates to Contrini (The name of a person) Workshops.

I have a pistol like yours but in .36 and in the Sheriff's Model. I had an opportunity to handle a second one just like mine and the arbor was loose.

I had a chain fire on my .36 which loosened the arbor.

It was a sweet shooter until that happened.

I bought some parts from the Deer Creek folks which were supposed to fit ASMs but they required a good bit of filing. I think this is not uncommon and what it means is that you could possibly just get the parts from DGW or VTI.

It is worth giving the Deer Creek folks a call, not necessarily to but anything. They are just nice folks to talk to.
