Black Friday fallout...

... well, another UPS delivery or two showed up on the porch today.

First semi-critical comment I can recall receiving from the significant other: "Good Lord, how much ammo did you buy?"

She was a bit worried about stockpile rules, but we don't live in Massachusetts.

And there were so many sales on 9mm....

Then she looked at a box from Gander Mountain, that had 2x 250rd boxes of UMC, and asked "how long will THAT last you?"

"Hmmm... at 200rds per session... maybe a month?"

She just shook her head.

I think the last should arrive tomorrow - for a while.

You need another drop spot, like work or a friends house...What is this, the bush leagues?

:D

I kid. My comptroller (wife) gives me the same drill anytime something shows up from UPS or I need to pop into the gun store.

Mine normally just laughs and shakes her head.

Guess she's not used to seeing a few thousand rounds show up in a short span...

It'll last me a bit longer...

... in part because I'll also shoot some other calibers (.45acp, .44Special, .38, .357), but also because at a given session I'll shoot 100-200 centerfire, then 100-200 .22.

I need to get into reloading, once we figure out where our permanent house will be. Just don't want to deal with moving components and powder later in the year.

I feel your pain. I went from having 150-200 rounds sitting on our bookcase to 3,000 rounds in three ammo cans in about 6 weeks. I got a lot of nasty looks, she got a new purse and the looks went away :)

"Black Friday"

hurt our firearms sales; due in part, to Auburn's televised comeback victory over the Bama' Nation~! ;)

My wife is tolerant as long as I make room for it in the garage. I've about filled up my cabinets and shelving unit with ammo and components. I have separate cans for most calibers for "range", "reloading" and "reserve". Going to have to either get rid of some calibers (Aaack!) or dig into another part of the garage to make room for more cabinets.

One great aspect of reloading is I can always reply, "But honey, I save 60% off factory prices. Just think how much all this would have cost if it was factory ammo!"

Obviously!

He should have planned the delivery date and sent her out to get a "cute hair cut" and a nice dress to go out for a romantic dinner --> and his man stuff gets delivered while she is out.

rookie!:p

Other drop spots, or sending her out...

... aren't necessary nor desired.

Why give her an actual reason to complain?

It must be wonderful to live in the Free States of America! Living in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts, Internet sites cannot mail ammo to my abode. So I must hit Bass Pro, Cabelas, local gun shops and gun shows to try to find ammo on sale.

Beware of that attitude...

I had an X like that. Acted like I should have spent my money on her if I bought things like ammo for myself. Now as long as you can afford what you buy and your woman has the money she needs, there shouldn't be a feeling of competition. After all. When a woman comes home after spending $50 on her hair or pedicure it usually meets with a mans approval even though it is just as frivilous as blowing 100 rounds in a range session just because it makes you happy to do so....:) A woman has got to understand that you could be spending the money at a tittee bar instead of going to the range and coming home to her:rolleyes: If you can't be honest in your relationship and are made to feel guilty for spending money on yourself, then you have a woman that is looking for a man to give her all he's got before moving on to greener pastures. rc

I lucked out getting the last 6 boxes of 12 Gauge 7 1/2 at Dicks. If anyone needs 20 Gauge, there is a lot left

My 'black friday' fall-out was kind of unusual as it didn't cost me a thing. I picked up my Remington 1911R1 on Thanksgiving Day from Gander Mt. They issued Gander Cash Coupons at the rate of $20/ hundred dollars spent not to exceed $100, however the coupons couldn't be spent the same day. For $99.99 I picked up 250 rds. of .45 UMC hardball for the Remington the following Sunday. The wife couldn't complain much about that as she was over at Macy's spending money on herself.;)
