Bisley clones

OK, I just posted my Navy Arms question then thought of another. How has or has fired Bisley model SAAs? My grand scheme includes a purchase of a Bisley clone to evaluate against the Navy Arms 1873 plow-handle. Then.....eventually...gatting a matching pistol of the one I prefer and get ready for Cowboy Action shooting. Is the Bisley worth considering? I held one at a dealer and the feel actually grew on me quite rapidly. When I first picked it up, my fingers couldn't decide where to grab. After picking up several other 1873's then holding the Bisley for awhile, it actually felt very good in the hand.

Toward the end of the 19th century Smith & Wesson was starting to dominate the bullseye target game with their No. 3 “New Model” target revolvers. Colt responded with the Bisley - named after a famous British target range. It wasn’t long before they offered the same configuration in a service model as well.

Either you like the Bisley grip or you hate it. Those that like it like it very much. One of the advantages is that because of the shape of the grip it doesn’t roll up in the hand like a regular Single Action will - particularly with heavy loads. Also the short, wide hammer spur is easier to cock when the gun is at eye level. I would try both some more, but I think you are going to like it. It all depends on how it feels in your hand, nothing else matters.
