Birthday Presents!

Welp, I turn 15 today, and I wanted to show you guys the stuff I got! :)

My dad payed the remaining $139 on my savage axis in .22-250, as you can see. It came with a bunch of stuff like a lock and ear plugs and a target and everything. :D
he also bought me rings and mounts for the Nikon I'm getting (3-9x40 prostaff). Then yesterday my Grandpa and Grandma got me two bricks of federal Automatch (they were on sale for $22! :D) and my friend who's an FFL holder gave me some of his reloads of .22-250 (dad is going to make sure they're safe). When I got the rifle I ran a swab through it, bore is very bright after! I greasee behind the lugs on the bolt and the bolt raceways, then I put my 1907 sling on it( I like the way it looks :D). You may see the winchester manual off to the left, it's actually for a Model 70, I guess it came in my box by accident. Anyway, I will post a range report after I get the scope/sight it in. Just wanted to post and update that I got the gun and everything. Thanks for reading!

Congratulations! Nice birthday present.

It's hard to tell, but the rings look kind of high for a 3-9X, 40 mm objective scope. The bottom of the scope objective should be no higher that about 1/4" above the barrel. I prefer it to be closer to 1/8" above the barrel.

If it's not too late, you may want to get either low or medium rings.

You know what would be funny is if those boxes of 22lr were in 250 packs. 22-250

But I know they come in something like 325.

Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

My first center fire rifle was a 22-250.

I hope you enjoy your as much as I did mine.

Happy Birthday!

I had the Savage Axis in .223 and i will tell you that it is very accurate right out the box. Just be sure to loctite everything. the 1/9 twist barrel on the .223 was shooting 3/4" groups with 64 grain barnes tsx bullets , 1" groups with 45 grain remington UMC hollow points, 3/4" groups with sierra matchkings, and even shot 2" groups with cheap tula steel case ammo for plinking. I couldnt complain one bit.
Savage spent all there money on the barrel and action. It shows when u feel the stock. There are some good replacements now though
