I bought a bottle of this stuff today because they were out of hoppes copper solvent. While cleaning the barrel I noticed that the patch was coming out blue. Is this the reaction this stuff has to copper? The ammo was ballistic tips and the barrel is stainless steel. Thanks.

The blue/green color on the patch is exactly what you want to see. That is the dissolved copper. Keep repeating the process until the patches come out clean.

DO NOT leave the copper solvent in any barrel for more than 15 minutes. The active ingredient (ammonia) will etch your barrel.
