Bill DeShivs unknown pistol

I am trying to figure out a BP Italian revolver imported by EIG.
I read a post from 08 about a import that had a "B" inside a "G"
this 36 cal, made in 1968 has that marking also.
i looked at the pic that Bill had on his post and it is identical.
did anyone ever figure it out?

I found a piece in a book "Pistols of the World"
basically states Luciano Giacosa was a small gun maker that made 32's and 38's in the sixtys. There is no mention of a cap and ball Navy.
