Bike rider looking for good holster

Sorry I haven't taken the time to fill in my profile. I am a bike (bicycle) rider from Los Angeles and I am looking for suggestion for a holster, preferably CC that is durable, lightweight and doesn't effect riding comfort but is still readily available. bike riders have been recently targeted by gangs as "practice" or initiation rites, or just because they lack any respect for humanity and find it entertaining. thanks for you help.

Depending on size of the gun, their are several options for you. If it's a P3AT you could go with the concealed necklace I think I have seen around the net. You could try thunderwear or maybe a bellyband or new 5.11 shirt that has a holster pocket built into it.
You could also get a pouch on the handlebars of your bike that has velcro closure.

If I was on a push-bike I would carry the same way as I do on a real bike. (Real bikes are defined as one having a motor with a twin engine) :)

I carry in a shoulder holster and my BUG in my jacket pocket. You could carry in a fanny pack too.

Kinda depends on what you wear clothing-wise (style etc) while biking. If you're in cycling jerseys, and spandex shorts, your options are limited.:( If you wear a dark colored windbreaker at all, you could use the shoulder holster concept some one else suggested.

You could slip a P3AT or the like, into the back jersey pocket if you use jerseys. Slip a piece of plastic (rigid) or heavy leather into the pocket first, to cushion & protect the pistol from sweat, and help with the 'sag' of the pocket. If you had a small pocket sewn onto the leather slab, it could act as a holster too.

Otherwise look at the Concealed Carry Camelback packs, especially the waist pack one as it would have the best access of the Camelbaks.

Carry on a Bicyle

I commute to work a couple times week and use a messenger bag for my work stuff, to carry my P239 I use a safepacker from wilderness products attached to the strap across my chest. It doesn't affect pedaling and it is "hidden" in plain sight

I dunno about coming from Milwaukee... Mine's a Japanese V-twin, and it'll outrun anything Milwaukee offers, and is only HALF the CC's...

it gets better mileage, runs faster, is cheaper to operate, AND doesn't "mark it's territory"...

you couldn't run fast enough to give me a Harley...

As for CCW on it, I just stick the gun in my Jak-Slide Galco, just like every other time I leave the house...

Hey, I said a "real bike" has a twin engine. I didn't say anything about coming out of Milwaukee.
My real bike came out of Bologna, Italy. The ones before that came out of Milwaukee, but I got tired of "draggin' the pegs" or "scrapin' da' footboards around every corner.

:) Of those serious gunmen I know who, also, ride bicycles they all use shoulder holsters. I don't; but, if I did, I think I'd prefer a thumb break crossdraw worn at 11:00 o'clock on my belt. This way it would be available to either hand and shouldn't interfere with pedaling.

I've got to say that I'm funny about handguns, though. In your situation I'd want to carry as much gun as I'm able - sufficient caliber and high capacity as well. Against actually having to use it, I wouldn't be looking to save, either, weight or belt space.

Why don't you peruse:

Del Fatti

Kramer

I use my CamelBak. It easily carries my P229 and a reload, along with all the other stuff I carry along, like spare tubes and tools, etc. It may not be as quick to get to as a normal holster, but its attached to me, and goes with me when I leave the bike.

While it is slower to get to, its really not all that slow once you get your thing down, and a little advance planning on how you will deal with things can let you set things up. I plan for a "run away offense". Anyone foolish enough to follow, will soon stop worrying about how funny I look in spandex shorts and funny shoes. :)

OK really funny guys, but I expected it and that why I said (bicycle). don't worry biker I can take a jab, and I'll still share the road with you. and no i don't wear spandex or jersey shirts. either way good advice from everyone thank you very much. thanks for staying on topic too. and we do have CC laws in California, but there is a difference between driving through Los Angeles and riding a BICYCLE  through L.A. at midnight. I am willing to go through the justice system for my life.
