Biggest gun show in Austin/San Antonio?

IIRC Saxet comes twice a month to SA, nothing huge, but can generally kill an afternoon. It was by the airport and now think its at the old stadium. Nice thing in SA is there's almost always a gunshow !!!!
 
I went 2 months ago to the saxet on 410 and Marbach, at the San Antonio Event Center. I liked it I left with a finnish mosin nagant for 25o bucks. I spent about 4 hours in there I could of stayed longer but i was out of money. The whole building was full of tables though.
 
Saxet is ok - it's useful for lower prices on standard handguns - like Glocks, SW, Ruger, etc.

Ammo - not some much for standard ammo. Better prices elsewhere.

Jerky - well, if that's your thing?

Where are the best places to get ammo in the area? Cabelas/Academy?
 
Depends what you want. Academy and WalMart for generic UMC, WWB, etc. Stocking is sporadic.

Bass Pro is running sales now. Dick's does sometimes.

For example - Wally's runs 100 round 9mm WWB for about $21 and BassP had it only sale for $22.

Academy has the Monarch line and Blazer.

BassP has some kind of Winchester JHP 9mm in 50 rounds for $15 ish. STX?
I forget - in a black and red box for them.

I watch Cabela's for sales if I want to make the drive or stop on the way to Austin.
 
Im debating whether its even worthwhile to go this weekend here in Austin. The San Antonio is bigger but only 20% more interesting. If you want new guns, its pretty always AJC in the past couple outings, so just buy online and save you some time.
 
AJC has some good prices. I usually buy new things from him and he's been good on trades.

Best hit I had was when the SW 432 HR mag snubbies were being dumped and I got one for $330. Nice light pocket gun.
 
Went to the show this morning. Was alright. Need to go to a big show in Houston or Dallas sometime.

Bought some hard to find low recoil slugs/buckshot and that was about it.

AJC has some good prices.

This is very true. Them and another larger dealer have great prices on new guns. Fortunately I exercised my will power and didn't buy any.
