What is it, a Security-Six? Let me know, because I might still have some large Pachmayr presentation grips around for a Sec-Six. Drop me a PM if it is a Security-Six and I forgett to check and don't get back to you.

Well, the model name is written on the gun.

Sorry, though, partner . . . the two extra Security-Six grips that I had at one time are gone. Don't know what I did with them, but they're not in the grip box.

ok thanks.

i dont have the gun with me at the moment so i cant look for a serial number....

but it didnt have any model names on it that i remeber seeing....at all.

I have a Security Six - an older one. The grips are different than later production. I couldn't find any that would fit. I contacted Ruger and they sent me a set of great rubber grips for it. I'd contact them. They will know what you need, and may have it. adk

Ruger stocks? We gotcha Ruger stocks right here!

Good selection of service grade and target types - - No exotics, just wood and rubber, maybe some plastic. But the prices are extremely reasonable and the service is outstanding.

I've placed a couple of orders with CDNN and could barely believe how fast the stuff arrived.

Best,
Johnny

Dude, I hate to tell you this, but the 150-series Security-Sixes used a different grip frame than all subsequent Security-Sixes. I am not aware of a source for 150-series aftermarket grips. (This comes up a lot over on the Ruger forum.) CDNN will not have them.

If you find the gripframe is just to small for you to use, you'll have to get another revolver. Sorry. :(

Please believe, I'm not picking an argument here.

Erich, I do not doubt what you write. I was not even aware of the differences in the 150 and pre-150 Ruger frames.

Howsomever, Nimitz87, at the very low prices CDNN charges for their replacement stocks, I'd be very tempted to order one or two sets and do a little tinkering. Note: Security Six, Speed Six, Service Six, and Service Six are all essentially the same frame - - Perhaps one or more of these is in square butt only, and/or round butt only.

If 'twere me, I'd order the wood RB stock, and be prepared to do a little carving with an X-Acto knife, or (careful) work with a Dremel grinder. If you take out too much, you can "bed" revolver stocks with Accra Glas or even old slow dry epoxy, just as you can with a rifle stock. Just be careful and put a thin coat of release agent (or carnuba wax, or even petroleum jelly) on the metal parts, lest you obtain an unsatisfactory permanent installation.

If you get the rubber version, it is a little more difficult to grind out - - Tends to melt if your Dremel is set on too high a speed. ;)

Good luck to you.

Johnny

I re-cut the frame on my old Security Six so I could use standard grips. It was easy to do on a bench grinder. And some filing. Not much material had to come off. All off the backstrap, if I remember right. I used the new grips as a guide. I used cold blue to re-color the frame. Came out good. It's a great gun. adk

I have a set of Herrett's Shooting Star target stocks on my Security-Six, but it's a '76 Liberty model, serial # starts with 152.
