Big Thumbs up to Springfield Armory!!

I had posted previously that my Milspec Champion had developed a crack in the slide, about 1 inch from the muzzle, and ran up both sides, towards the top.

I had contacted Springfield Armory.
They sent a pre-paid Fedex shipping label. Sent pistol in( was cleaned first).
Total time pistol was gone was 2 weeks.

Came back with new slide, and new 3 dot white sights. Alas, my bushing was in the case in a ziploc bag, as it's no longer on the pistol. Springfield quit making the Milspec, so I ended up with a Range Officer Champion slide.

I asked for them to put new Springfield grips on for me, as the previous owner put on pachmars. I was willing to pay for these, and they billed me accordingly.

The people that I talked with in their customer service dept were very pleasant, helpful, and took the time to listen, and got things done!!

Shot the pistol yesterday. about 3" to the left, but otherwise all is good.

SA is a good company, very easy to deal with. Their custom shop is pretty good too. I send a 1911 in for a refinishing on the frame and when I came back they'd touched up the trigger feel a bit too... I hadn't asked for it and they didn't charge, but wow. :)

Springfield Armory in my experience, has the best customer service in the industry, Glock has good service too, but SA is the benchmark for good customer relationships.

Springfield rocks! I won a XDS 45 during a fall promotion from them. At the same time they were giving away a couple of mags and a range bag to people who purchased a handgun from them. Even though I didn't buy the gun I sent in the paperwork for the freebees. A month later those came too. What a great company.

They are one of the best company's for supporting their firearms.
As for their XD-45s you won't have any problems i am betting. They are really tough and built to last.

Many many people have said how great they are and this is just anothe bit of proof. I just ordered a G27 Gen 4 Battlefield Green to replace / become my EDC CCW .... BUT boy did I want to order a Springfield Armory 1911 instead!

That is right in line with any interactions I have had with Springfield! I love my XDM 3.8 compact and I have been looking at getting a Springfield 1911. Thanks for the report

I'm sorry did you say Springfield quit making their milspec 1911? I am currently saving my funds to purchase one... I want the 1911 milspec with the parkarized or blued finish whatever it is. I will truly be disappointed if they quit making it

Mike,
They quit making the MilSpec Champion. The 4" barrel job.

Now I have to call them back again...
They replaced my bushing and plunger rod(At the end of the recoil spring). and now I can't get the darn thing apart for cleaning...

I had an issue with my XD45C malfunctioning with Hollowpoint ammo, which it had never done before. I called got a friendly rep, had a prepaid shipping label that day.

1 week later I got the gun back with a free magazine. They did however say it was functioning normally..........which when I ran to the range to prove them wrong.........was functioning fine. I think I boogered something up with my last weapon light install on it. (Too tight or something, it had run fine before with it and ran fine without it. I am going to try to recreate the issue but haven't had a chance).

Long story short Springfield was great.

They are top notch in every way.
I've never had to use their warranty services, but my IDPA club has been awarding pistols purchased through their Top Gun program for almost fifteen years. Great supporter of the shooting sports.
