I am fixin' to (a Texas expression) head to Louisville and I'm gonna pick up the banished KevinW for the trip south where we hope to meet up with glockgadza from Memphis, Tn. Any other TFL'rs going to Louisville? Like to meet y'all if you are.

Where is it and when are you going to be there Jeff? I was planning on going to the range with the boys (after soccer was over :( , 3 more weeks yeah) but the weather looks like it will be heading south fast. That being the case a trip to Louisville might be in order. We probably can't get down there before 1:00 or so.

The show is at the fairgrounds right off I-65, just follow the fairgrounds exit signs off the interstate.

I plan on getting there about 1200 Louisville time, that is 1100 Indy time. If you want to meet up email me and I will send you my mobile number so we can contact each other. We can meet in the lobby area right outside the ropes at 12:30 if we don't connect. I use to be real easy to spot with the ponytail, but it is gone. Of course I know what Eric looks like already.

Jeff check your mail.

I'll probably be wearing my TFL shirt (under a jacket, it is supposed to be 20 degrees and snow flurries. It was 75 here yesterday  ). Also will probably have at least 2-3 of the Lowercase L's with me. Not sure how we will recognize you without the black shorts and hair, but we'll manage.

The aftermath.....

First of all, yes Jeff did cut his hair. Twas somewhat of a shock, but the same old Jeff seems to be underneath (wandering around the tables "Oh yeah, I've got one of them....").

Second, the uppercase L managed to escape with only one major heart attack (to a lowercase L "STOP, back away from the table (covered with 20-30 original lever actions averaging low 5 figures each). DON'T touch anything. Just back off. Thank you, just keep walking"

Third, some of the dealers seemed to be smoking some of those funny left handed cigs (a $299 10/22 (nothing special about it) leaps to mind) but only one outrageous bargin (Jeff & Kevin at dinner were debating going back and seeing if it was still available).

Fourth cell phones are a mixed blessing. My roaming bill should be interesting because someone (remaining nameless :) ) routed a call through Austin to my pocket instead of looking 50' off to the left. Oh well, what are friends for. :D

All in all though a very good time (would have been great if I could have found the .22 I was looking for). We are planning a repeat performance in Indy the weekend of 10/28 if anyone wants to show up.

I decided to go to the Louisville gun show at the last minute, and I'm sure glad I went. I've been trying to find some Hornady XTP in .25ACP hollow point for my Beretta Jetfire for a long time. I found three boxes and I bought it all! Also pcked up some Glaser "Blues" in .32ACP and .38 Special. I also finally broke down and bought some Magsafe for my P-32. Finally, best of all, I found a new carbon fiber handle Columbia River folder (M16) with the tanto blade. Nice!

I wanted to buy guns. I tried to buy guns, I really did, but the drugs seemed to be in such widespread use that it was impossible. A new SIG P220 Sport for nearly $1100 when you can buy it for $965 on the net. A High Standard 10B shotgun, I bought mine in Texas for $285, this guy had a 70% gun that RETAILS for $325 and he was wanting $500-$600 best I could tell, he wouldn't tell me the price!?!?!?! A VERY used Bren 10 MP for $1500 and $700 Seecamps. A few reasonable deals: .40 S&W Firestar (blue) $219, .45 Firestar (Starvel) $295, and a LNIB Beretta Border Marshall Elite with $300 in accessories and upgrades for $550 (if it had been a 9mm I would have bought it, though I think I would have been wrestling on the floor with GregL for it). As GregL said, Indy on 10/28, y'all come now.
