EYE IN THE SKY
New technology on trial to monitor prisoners at home

SATELLITES could be used to keep tabs on WA prisoners released into the community under Justice Ministry plans to improve its home detention program.

The technology may also be used to protect victims of domestic violence or stalking by alerting police if offenders get too close to their victims' homes or work. (Emphasis added)

(Background paras snipped)

Among the options being considered by the ministry are tamper-proof bracelets equipped with a satellite-linked global positioning system, which can pinpoint the location of prisoners to within 10 m. [/quote]

Hang about just a second .... an ex-wife goes to court and gets an AVO taken out against her husband. These can be isuued without his knowledge, and on her say-so alone.

He is then forced to wear a tamper-proof bracelet hooked up to a GPS????

How long before gunowners and their firearms are similarly "tagged"? That way, police could see whenever the two "came together".

Tell you what, I'm glad I'm 50 and ain't gonna be round long enough to see the full outcomes of our Brave New World! But I feel sorry for my kids.

F2T2EA = Find, Fix, Track, Target, Engage, Assess
Air Force Magazine, Journal of the Air Force Association, July, 2000, pg 24

(QUOTE)
In October 1966, Gen. Ronal R. Fogleman, the Air Force Chief of Staff,
appeared before an Air Force Association symposium, and there he issued an
arresting statement. “In the first quarter of the 21st century,” Fogleman
declared, “it will become possible to find, fix or track, and target anything
that moves on the surface of the Earth.

The comment was widely repeated. Over time, it became something of an
unofficial Air Force slogan and later was amended to include “engage” and
“assess,” words describing action on a target and determination of the effects
obtained”
[snip]

During Allied Force, [Gen. John P. Jumper] noted, U-2s en route to
reconnaissance targets in Kosovo could be redirected to scan a different hot
spot. The imagery ... was beamed by to Beale AFB, Calif., for analysis and
forwarded to the Combined Air Operations Center in Vicenza, Italy. There a
decision on whether to strike a newly found target could be made and data
about it passed to aircraft orbiting near the target area.

Such a process could sometimes be run through in as little as 12 minutes,
but [Gen.] Jumper [said] the goal is ‘single-digit minutes’ from the scan order
to bombs on target.”
(UNQUOTE)

This is a long article explaining current and future capabilities.

Current multi-spectrum technology capabilities include:
- radars which can find army tanks regardless of camouflage used.
- radars which can tell which fuel storage tanks are full or empty.
- TUT, Things Under Trees.
- being able to find, command bunkers and other facilities underground, and
- destroy targets in the center of a city with little or not collateral damage.

In other words, the kids in “Red Dawn” would not have a chance against
today’s technology. Neither would we. Therefore, we better regain control of
our government at the ballot box.
