BFR question

405 gr out of a 10" 45-70 and 320 gr out of a 6 1/2" .454. The 45-70 felt like my 629 smith as far as recoil. Now the 320 gr corbon at 1650 was a little stiff, but not brutal.

Shot some Hornady 400 gr XTP Mags out of my 475 Linebaugh BFR. Velocity 1300 fps from 7.5" barrel. Heavy recoil, but fun! Great gun and caliber!!! ;)

I did not chrono the loads but they were close to max loads I used in my marlin guide gun.................

Anyone shot any 500 grainers from a BFR yet. I am DYING to know the chrono question: how fast did they go? I will literally BLOW UP if I don't get an answer. I gotta gotta gotta gotta find out folks. I gots to know man!

Sorry, best I can offer is the Lee 450grain w/ tier 1,2,&3 loads. 460grain as cast
10" BFR, 10' from start screen

1) 27.5 5744 1100fps,1095fpe
2) 39.5 imr4198 1437fps, 2120fpe
3) 43.0 imr 4198 1566fps, 2518fpe

300g Remington HP 1763fps, 2081fpe

My 4" 500 Smith kicks (hurts) much more with full power loads.
I only fired one cylinder of the 3) loads. Please do not do this. I saved the rest for my Ruger #3, so my mdr of pain can be fulfilled.

That's warm stuff indeed. Aaaallmost Thheeeerre!

A 450gr pill @ 1500 is nothing to sneeze at. Is it safe in the BFR?

Not really. Stick to the tier 2 loads. The cases easily extracted, but I consider it a stunt. I did check the loads with quickload against 450 Marlin pressures, and they were in the ballpark. When I ordered my mold, I thought it was a 500 grain.
