BFR in .45-70

I guess I should have asked before I bought, instead of afterward. i bought a BFR in .45-70 yesterday and put about 25 rounds through it today with no real problems.
looks and functions fine.
has anyone any long term experience with them?
any quality problems?
thanks in advance

Earlier this summer I decided that I want a .475 Linebaugh revolver and the BFR looks like the best route to go with the closest competition costing $400 more!

How does the workmanship on the BFR look? I was afraid to spend a grand to order one and get something that looked like it was built by a guy with a drillpress and a collection of files...

Workmanship isn't bad at all. They have nice files and a really good drill press. It balances well with a full load of 405 gr. The grips make this revolver very easy to control. Well made, excellent accuracy revolver for under a grand that doesn't have to have a bunch of tune up done.

I can see my available cash dwindling as you type, and that twitch is coming back to my right eye...

Excuse me while I call my local gunstore about making an order...

We were watching that thing on A&E last night that purported to be a movie of a book by Arthur Conan Doyle and I commented to LSW "Note to self: When planning expedition to Lost World, pack elephant gun and BFR in .45-70...":D
