BFI ORC with Red Dot - Wal Mart

Hello all.

I've never posted over here, but have frequently over on the handgun boards. I'm hoping for some insight on something I saw at Wal Mart the other day:



It said BFI ORC. When I searched BFI online - it said it was a Bushmaster? I get that ORC is "optic ready carbine" but is BFI really Bushmaster or some b-level Bushmaster company?

I'm leery of it being a good gun at that price point, but I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to ARs. I was going to build one out with some friends but ended up moving to NY for a few years so I ended up deciding to wait.

Any insight would be helpful. Is this a waste of money? If I could get a decent AR for $700 it might be pretty cool.
 
Nothing wrong with a bushmaster. They wont have all the bells and whistles of the high end stuff, but they work and work good. I had 6k rounds through mine before I sold it, never had any problems. I am not the most faithful cleaner either.

Seems like a fair price.
 
Last year, Walmart was selling a DPMS AR for less than that.
A young fellow at the local range had one and let me shoot it some.
It worked just fine, too.
For the way most folks use their ARs, the low priced ones will do.
