Not that my wife takes Prozac, but like many other spouses out there the recent terrorist events have had her unsettled lately.
Today I took her to the shooting range to try out our recently refinished MAK 90 and to shoot a new Bushmaster 16" shorty that we have had for nearly two years but never fired. (wasn't Y2K a gun nuts dream excuse??)
At first, she was not on the target at 50 yards, but after a few magazines through the AK she began to hit the target regularly.
Then we fired the Bushmaster for a while but only got a few magazines off before it was target changing time and we had to pause.
When the line was opened again my wife wanted to shoot the AK again because she "was just getting the hang of it" when we changed to the AR.
Well after a couple of more magazines she began nailing the black ring with regularity and then scored a couple of dead bulls eyes.
We let the AK cool off and proceeded to complete the break in of the AR. It was naturally a bit easier to shoot and aim. In no time my wife was in the black ring and nailed a half dozen bulls eyes!
The experience let her blow off a little tension and she now knows that if Osama Bin Lama ever got within 50 yards of her that she could easily toast him with either weapon.
Great therapy. Highly recommended.
