Better screws

Like the subject line says, are there better screws out there for the pietta? The factory ones seem soft, I have boogered up a couple on the first tear down. And yes I bought good Grace screw drivers. Some after market hardened ones? Anyone know about this? Thanks

There are aftermarket gunsmith screw sets. But whether better or not IDK.
Plus not sure how many if any in a general kit would fit.
Most in a Pietta likely would be metric.
Lot of lumber/ hardware stores do offer machine screws in metric sizes.
you might try them.
Otherwise you might ask VTIGUN by email if theirs are better.
Cabelas has them, but doubt you would get a direct answer

Mike, do you work the damaged screws back into shape?
Then heat to dull red and quench in oil?
Most gun screws have fillister heads which are hard to find in hardware stors.

Dave,
Yes, depending on how bad they are. Usually they are just upset a little so I re-contour the top surface, harden, polish and then fire blue them. Its a fairly big job just doing the screws but, they need "fixing" and they may as well look good too!!
I heat them to bright red , water quinch, polish then fire blue. After that, they will stand up to the screwdriver rather well!!
