best way to shoot

I am by no means an expert on proper form in shooting a revolver. While on the range this week the Range Master told me that when I tilted my 357 mag 2" and 4 " in a 15 degree angle, my shooting quality went way up.At 20 yards I hit all 6 into the black center while using my 2" 357 mag revolver.. I think he said it has something to do with the dominance of my eyes.
I always laughed when watching a TV or Movie where the bad guy turned his/her weapon into a 45 degree plus position.
Can anybody out there give me a reasonable explanation about this? I greatly would appreciate all of everyones thoughts on this.

I guess it could be your eyes. It could be the sights (are they adjustable?). I don't know. Some point shooting instructors do this sort of reflexively, but it's not actually part of the technique. I've trained LE and security personnel over the years that found odd ways to shoot straight that in my mind shouldn't have worked. But, when the evidence is on the paper, it's hard to argue with it. If it's precise and repeatable, qualify them and move on. No point in arguing about it. If you found some method that is getting you consistently, precisely, and quickly on your target, just do it.

It kind of reminds me of my old Master Chief's saying...

"Work hard? Work smart? Just work!!!"

Some folks shoot one handed better with the gun slightly slanted inward.
Especially with the off hand, during rapid fire.
It can help with recoil control.
Accuracy is retained as long as the person is aware of where the sights are actually aligned that way.

the person who told who to do that probably looked at your targets and shooting form and realized you were tilting the sights upwards when you pulled the trigger. and having you hold the gun with a down angle kinda negates that.

I will cant a handgun about that 15 deg when shooting Weak Hand Only. It puts you in a stronger position.
Strong Hand Only or freestyle with both hands, the the sights are plumb.
