Best way to fire a NEW AGE auto??

What is the procedure for firing the new autos without disturbing the white plastic tie-downs that everybody is putting on their "for sale" guns?
I don't want to scratch the gun by having the slide go back and forth but can't figure how to chamber a round with the slide closed.
:)

I'm not sure I'm following you, but if you're talking about the plastic ties at gun shows that go through the ejection port, those are places there so you can NOT fire the gun. It's a safety precaution.

I set up at (sell at) a show practically every weekend. Some promoters don't care if the guns have zip ties. While others will actually kick you out of a show if you do not have all your guns tied. It is an inconvenience but I suppose worth it considering some of the people that come through gun shows.
We use Terri's Taurus PT92 as a demo for our holsters. In order to simulatre the actual weight of a loaded gun we use a 15 round magazine loaded with dummy rounds (cartridges loaded with a bullet but no powder and spent primers). I finally had to start using zip ties on it. We have had several "experts" pick the gun up and while leaving the mag in it start cycling the action to "clear it". This done with me telling them not to work the slide. In doing so they always manage to paint everyone in sight, chambering and subsequently dumping dummy rounds on the floor. It usually results in the person lying the gun down and walking away in embarassment. There have been a few times that they walked away after the butt chewing I issued.
I don't sell guns at shows but I do keep a supply of zip ties on hand. If someone near by wants to check a gun out I always offer to remove the zip tie and then replace it after the inspection.

I guess I better not do any more satire.

Real incident: Several yrs ago I went to a gun show. Asked to see an M1 carbine. Dlr handed it to me.
I ALWAYS check chamber. Guess what. It was loaded. AND about 5 more rounds in mag.
I told the seller that it was loaded. He said, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, ok, yeah. Do you want it?" I put it back and picked up another. It was also loaded. I told him again. He just snatched the gun, told me he didn't have time for that and put it back in the rack.

I sure wish now that I had put a round thru the ceiling and seen how much longer his table would have been open.

I would have reported him to the promoter and asked that he told to leave and not come back until he understood the safety rules.

Lavan, I'm with Gunslinger. I'd have reported that idiot in a New York minute to the promoter. Get that numbskull outta the building!

I put plastic ties on my table guns. There's no accounting for the boonyets at a show, who'll pick up a gun without permission and start dry firing it or racking the lever or slide...

Better safe than sorry. J.B.

Let's hope that if it ever happens that it is the ceiling that catches a round and not an innocent bystander.
