What is your favorite way to clean copper build up from your barrel? Also do you think Plated bullets build up copper faster the Jacketed bullets.
I don't have any problem cleaning lead, but the copper can really be a bear!

Thanks
Tony

I use Sweets to loosen it up a bit. Then I take a worn out bronze cleaning brush wrapped with a cleaning patch that has had some JB compound rubbed in it and start scrubbing. Repeat process until clean. Sling Shot

I too use Sweet's in my rifles. Not much need for it in my handguns as I mainly shoot hardcast in all but the 32 and 380 calibers.

If you use Sweet's, don't let it set in the barrel longer than 15 to 20 minutes before swabbing it out. Since it gets the barrel down to bare steel, you need to watch out for rust if you leave it in too long.

I prefer RB-17 and a brass brush.
Sometimes I chase it with a swatch of Kleen-Bore Lead Removal Cloth.
I finish a squeaky clean bore with a saturated patch covered with Tetra-Lube (stinky) oil.
