Best thing to keep a bedside 4" revolver in?

I have a 4" Ruger GP-100 that is always kept in a plastic case. What kind of holster would you recommend for a loaded .357 kept bedside? Keep in mind that I don't have children.

I would just put it in a drawer or let it set on my bedside table. I never store a pistol in a holster it's bad for the finish. Just like leaving a knife in the sheath.

I keep my 4" Taurus 66 in an Uncle Mike's soft IWB holster. I don't like the idea of letting the blueing rub on the night stand. YMMV.

I don't know if they have one for your particular revolver, but I would recommend a cheap Fobus holster bedside on a Fobus Universal Mount on the side of your bed. That's the set-up I have and I wouldn't do it any other way for a million reasons.

I keep mine in a flower pot filled with dry beans and a couple of fake plastic flowers. Nobody would ever guess it's in there!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I didn't know holsters were bad for the finishes on guns, but wouldn't this be ok on a stainless revolver?

I think what I might buy is one of those triangle shaped pouches with a zipper enclosure and just keep it in a drawer. Are these good?

LOL, that's hilarious! Nothing beats the stopping power of beans.

i keep a charter arms 44 spl in a ziplock bag in my toilet tank.

Really? I'd be worried about condensation getting inside the ziploc.

Please don't use zipper pouch

Stainles will rust. It just rusts more slowly than blue steel. Also, the springs in your gun ar most probably not stainless. Gun rugs (zipper pouches) are for transport only, not long term storage. Ask me how I know.

bedside containment...

I keep mt USPc in a little gem called a GammaIII which looks just like a clock radio with a keypad on top...

That's because it IS a clock radio. Underneath the wood is a tough steel safe which opens when the combination is entered. Top tilts up and the interior is lit with a red LED for dark adapting. Holds an Emerson CQC-7, USPc 40 fitted with a surefire X200b and an extra mag. Room for jewelry too. Wakes me up on time with alarm or music.

Love the thing.

Bennett,

I spent a little time Googling on this and can't seem to find your little gem. Could you post a link to that product?

i keep a barretta auto in a clip on holster clipped to the bed rail on my bed.... i don't see why a revolver holster with a belt clip wouldn't work the same........

Ok, how do you know?

I'd love to see a picture of this! It sounds like something out of James Bond. What kind of money are we talking?

I don't like the idea of having a gun visible next to the bed. I've knocked my alarm clock and water bottle over before, so you can see my concern.

Keeps my pistol secure and at my fingertips while my "alarm clock and water bottle" are safe on the nightstand. :D
