Best source for Glock parts

Specifically slides and related parts.

I will be picking up a Glock 23 in a trade for an AR upper I decided to part with... And while having a 40 in the safe is nice... I shoot 9mm pretty much exclusively.

So I was contemplating using a conversion barrel.

Then I thought... I can put a whole 19 slide on and get better reliability. People build up custom Glocks all the time.

Thing is, I don't really want a fancy slide, just a standard slide is fine. I have seen the lonewolf stuff, but wondering if there are others.

In your position, I'd probably scan the web looking for a used slide. Should be some folks out there putting custom slides on their pistols and trying to recoup some of the cost by selling the original slide.

I been looking around. Armslist came up dry... and I did find a few on ebay but they cost as much as a custom slide.

A lot of people say that they recommend swapping the extractor when using a conversion barrel... will a 9mm extractor work if I switch back to 40?

If you're just shooting at the range, you can likely get adequate function with the .40 extractor in place.

If you're going to use the gun for SD, I'd change all the .40 parts (extractor, ejector, barrel, etc.) to 9mm parts and then shoot the gun extensively in its new configuration to verify reliability.

I dropped a LW 40-9 conversion barrel in my G35. No other parts changed. I do use 9mm mags

I have had ZERO malfunctions in about 1000 rounds (both factory and my reloads).

Most of that shooting has been suppressed, but the 150-200 rounds without the can on...the gun ran just fine

YMMV....
