The best shotgun …for under $ 300…( because I can’t pay the rent, my family doesn’t need food or clothes, my car starts most of the time, my wife can ride the bus….) …..but I have 9 dogs – and I have to feed them.…./ I only have 4 teeth left in my head….but I still go out drinking on Fri and Sat nites to flirt with the babes…/ a man needs his hobbies ya know….:D

….because I won’t shoot it much ( I can’t afford shells anyway )… / I just want to look cool …and I don’t have any idea what I’ll do with it ( because you clay target guys are just -CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED- anyway ….)….and oh, how short can I cut the barrel….and will most any dremel tool or hacksaw work or should I use a cutting torch and then just use a big bastard file to clean it up …?? ….and why would a real man need a “choke”….hell any good redneck can beat all you guys with your fancy $ 800 overpriced shotguns anyway…in any real man’s sports…( like squirrel hunting…)

And when you tell me what the best gun is …..can you tell me what the cheapest one is too….( a man has to know he’s getting a deal…ya know….)….
--------------
Where it says “shotgun” ……feel free to insert the work “handgun”, or “semi-auto handgun”, or “revolver”, or “rifle”….

Because I’m going to ask the same questions over there….too….

Just in case anyone's feelings are hurt, we all have budgets and I remember how worried I was about the price of my defense shotgun. All kidding aside, if a gun is for defense it has to be reliable. A false sense of security is worse than having no gun IMO. If you want tactical looks, that's fine so long as you don't put money into the cool factor that is better spent on reliability, training and trigger time. Better a reliable pump than a semi of questionable reliability. End of sermon.

I want one of those skeet door hangers!

Id go with the Mossberg....You sound like the kind of guy they had in mind when they designed it....I think the newer ones even come with a hacksaw blade in the box ...

Sounds like someone needs a drink and the day off.

I need a rock bottom price so I can afford to drink. Does anyone know where I can buy one of these. I heard there are some imported semis for sale for $199. Who cares if their barrels are blems. Those cracks are so small they are nearly invisible.

I realize this thread is all tongue-in-cheek, but I personally don't think setting a goal of buying a decent $300 shotgun is out of reach. Of course, the buyer has to be willing to buy used and be patient enough for just the right deal to come along. I've got a beautiful Mossberg 500 in my safe (with the older wood stock that is actually real wood) that I picked up for around $200. I've got a Marlin 90 O/U (arguably the best American made O/U ever) that cost me a cheap pistol that I traded for a rifle that I traded for the shotgun.

No need to actually spend any money to get a cheap shotgun.
Just wait around the range until someone drives off without theirs.
There's always one.

i have an H&R pardner pump. shoots great, 100% reliable and built like a tank(heavy as one too). but it falls below you budget and goes bang like it's supposed to. I have put nothing but 00 buck through mine, several hundred times BTW, and it still runs like new.....and I bought it used.

aint purdy, but everyone that has one speaks highly of its reliability and heavy-(dutiness?)

I paid 100$ from a buddy, doubt you'll get that good of a deal, but I think you can get them for 200$ easy

Dang straight us poor people like our guns better than our women. Almost as good as an old hound. So what if she's a jamomatic as long as it is big, black and TacktiKool.

And who can't help but admire a guy hat spends his last dollar on tactical gun bling, money that some fools would waste on food and shoes for the young ones.

I was all set to order one of these, but the fools don't make one in 10 gauge.
