Best place to get Ruger Blackhawk work done?

I have a few Blackhawks, I'd like to get some work done on them, where are a few good places I could send them? I'm looking to have cylinders made to improve lockup, accuracy, get the triggers done, etc.

Thanks

Do you have any SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) clubs near you?

Check the internet for New Jersey clubs.

The cowboys often have a lot of work done on their Blackhawks, Vaqueros,
Colts and Urbertis and they can point you to someone near you hopefully.

Val,
If you're on good terms with the NJ State Police, give them a call and ask for the Firearms instructor. You should get the correct info. When i lived in Springfield, They always were a great source for gun smithing and such.
If not, I might have source in the Force that might be able to help. No promises, but you know how the old Boy Jersey network works.

Val, I don't know where you are in S Jersey, but I've taken a gun to Joe Winters in Berlin for repair and was happy with his work. 856 767 0349.

Some good advice, I'll follow all of it and see where it leads.

I have a feeling after contacting my local SASS club, I'll be sporting a handlebar mustache and calling myself Yosemite Mike:D

Bob Munden died recently
Back in 2012 actually. But Jeff does good work too. At least I am satisfied with it for what I need done.
Interestingly, a guy showed up recently at our CFDA club with a New Vaquero that came out of the Munden shop recently. It wouldn't reliably ignite cartridges that we use for Fast Draw.

Some of the guys who work on Rugers in the club took it apart and found a problem with the transfer bar, which they replaced. These guys aren't gunsmiths per se, but we're hard on revolvers, so as we go along, we've learned to work on them.

It may have been a one-off, but when you send a revolver to a fast gun shop, and it comes back with problems, it makes you wonder. I don't want to cast aspersions on the Munden shop, but this one came back with problems.

PawPaw, hopefully the guy let Jeff know about the transfer bar problem. I've always asked for a heavier hammer spring in mine than they normally put in them as I use CCI which have a bit harder primer cup. I don't do fast draw... but do like a slick action. As for transfer bars, I've had one break (not gunsmithing related) out of the blue. Also had to replace a hammer once due to excessive filing (by me) to eliminate the transfer bar 'pinch'. Live and learn.

I don't know if he did or not. The problem is that he got the gun in four weeks ago and we're coming in to the spring competition season. Last weekend was an inviational match (three clubs) and next weekend is the Texas State Championship in Fort Worth. There simply isn't enough time to get it to a 'smith and have it returned. He may return it later, but in the meantime we've done what we could for him. It seemed to be okay last weekend. We'll see.

Ruger made a change to their transfer bars last year to address the breakage problem. We'll see over time if their engineering worked. I've heard a lot about transfer bar pinch, but I'm lucky. The four that we shoot has never exhibited any signs of pinch. One is an old model and three are New Models of recent manufacture. Nary a problem with my guns.
