Were is the best place to buy target stands something like a H style or X style stand. I'm looking for something well made, but at a good price.

Thanks for your help!

P.S. What is the cheapest place to buy targets? Has anyone ever bought from Qualification Targets http://www.targets.net ? Prices seem pretty good.

Somebody once posted a DIY target stand made from 3/4 inch Sch 40 PVC pipe. I don't have any plans, but it was very straightforward, an "0" shape with t fittings on the bottom for legs to the front and back, with holes drilled in the legs to permit staking.

Think carefully about which joints to glue versus slip fits, the whole thing should break down and fit in a small duffel.

Dillon sells an H-style for about $35. It needs a J-hook of rebar or something to hold it down. They also sell stakes with rectangular tubes to drop the legs of your target stand into.

Yeppers. Make them from PVC pipe and furring strips or 4 foot scrap lumber. Staple the taget to the upright furring strips and replace as needed. On windy days slide a piece of rebar throught the base. Email me and I can draw you a rough sketch. We made quite a few for IPSC and NRA Action Pistol matches.

What Karsten said. I use 2" sched 40 with 90 degree tees and 18" bases. I use reject 2" furing strips and the stands work perfectly. Have a metal monster that I bought at a gunshow but it hasn't left the tube in 3 years.

The drawing are in the mail, rough so I hope you can make them out. Fairly simple design no matter what but the are light, easy to transport, take down for storage and go right together. Good Luck

McShot,
You sound like you could be from Colorado where I made all those darm stands.
