My LGS does not have any of the 3 guns I am ready to buy. Sig told hime Aug., Springfield Said no 9mm 1911's in schedule, CZ no return call yet.
So I am probably going to buy online and have hime do the transfer. What auction sights are good? I would assume all the major ones are ok gunbroker, gunsamerica, gunauction. Anyone have bad experience with the sights themselves?

Actually, the word is "sites."

But, it all depends upon who you buy from. I only deal with gunbroker and have had good luck. But I'm careful to only bid on items listed by people with a lot of good feedback, as sellers! You don't want to bid on something listed by somebody who maybe has some good feedback as a buyer, and then he lists an item for sale. That's not good enough. I've heard too many horror stories.

I also tend toward those with a brick and mortar store. I call them about the item. You can get a feel about people sometimes by talking to them.

But I have bought from individuals. My last gun purchase was a Browning falling block and it was from an ordinary Joe who had sold a lot on GB.

Again, the auction site isn't as important as you doing your homework on the particular seller.

I ordered from Buds recently and must say was pretty pleased. The firearm shipped the next day, which is what I expect from an online retailer. The only gripe I have is the 3% additional charge for credit cards.

Another option is grabagun and gallery of guns. I haven't tried either. I can see the appeal of gallery of guns as they have a warranty and clearly state the final price.

I haven't bought a lot of firearms online but the few I have were on gunbroker. The last gun I bought was from a store in Minnesota with the username Northern Firearms. I would definitely recommend checking their auctions to see if they have what you're looking for. The people I talked to were very nice and helpful and they have very good prices as well as free shipping. If you check auctions without reserve prices you can sometimes get very good deals as well. I purchased a new Sig Pro 2022 40S&W for $300 including shipping a few months ago.
