Ilike finding diamonds in the rough like the HSXD now I know you can't turn a sows ear into a silk purse that being said have you any experiance with the FEG high power clone or the FIRESTORM or LlAMA LINE of pistols
any other great bargain out there to be had that you know of would be great to hear

Ok, screaming deals are really plentiful right now....

Firestorm/Bersa guns are pretty good, dependable, accurate and priced right...the mini FS 9 and 40 are a very good deal.

FEG guns are quite good also...the HP clones are very reputable and most of the complaints heard are regarding the d/a trigger and the small sights. The rest of the FEG line fits the same lines.

Llama guns are the most questionable of the "bargain" guns..older guns were made of poor quality metals and would shoot loose...newer guns are rumored to be much better..

Arcus makes a very good priced HP clone and from what I have seen, played with and heard are pretty good guns in general.

If you want a 45, 1911 style Rock Island and Charles Daly are both prettty good deals...can be had for around 350.00$

Hope this helps....Shoot well

I'm taking a hard look at the Rock Island 1911s (and the flood of surplus Mosin Nagants and Mausers). I wouldn't put the HS2000/SAXD in the same class as all the others though. It's not really a diamond in the rough. In fact, mine pretty much fits the definition of excellence.

Bersa

I will second the Bersa, they make a good, inexpensive weapon,
I also noticed a century arms 1911 that was priced about
275 bucks, it looked a felt pretty decent, you might check one of those out, although I have not heard any feedback yet, but
$275 for a 1911, worth looking at.

A NIB Bulgarian Makarov with spare mag, holster, and a few boxes of ammo will set you back less than $200. For the money, this has got to be one of the best deals in low-cost self-defense weapons.

The CZ-40 looks like a fine pistol, and it'll run around $300 with spare mag NIB. If you're looking for a reliable major caliber handgun, this one's definitely a good option.

I would agree that that Makarov and Bersa .380's fit this category well. The FM hi-power is a very good reproduction of the original and the price is much lower. I would also recommend the polymer framed Ruger's, great guns for the money.

I own several of the FEG's as well as the combat grade model of 1911 mfg. by S.A.M.in the Phillipines that (century international)is mentioned above. All of my FEG's are well made guns that are accurate and reliable. The S.A.M.1911 is well made and finished and shoots very nice, although i've only shot 230 Wolf FMJ through it.

My old buddy Freebyrd!
I have a Bersa Thunder .380 that is a great little shooter...I can't give enough praise to the Mosin Nagants available right now for less than $70.00 and what a BLAST to shoot! and last but not least...a Charles Daly DDA 10-45 at Southern Ohio Guns for...are you ready? $275.00!!! I paid $299.00 for mine and I love it...but I think the best deal right now are the Mosin's...you can't beat the prices and when the surplus dries up? I paid $79.00 for my Norinco SKS in 1991...today...$275+
Tony.

I have a Feg Hp Copy , DA/SA . For the money it's a very
good gun . Mine worked great up until about 1000 rounds,
it's strating to Jam now and again . But for $265 i would definilty
reccomend it ..

Well, ditto for me on the Arcus. It's the cheapest handgun i've ever bought. In some respects, i trust it the most. It is ugly and big, but it's the best HP clone out there, in some ways better than the original. Grips, mags and internal parts are HP interchangable. Forget the soft-metal FEG.
