Best OAL for Rossi 92?

Well my 45 Colt Rossi 1892 is pretty smooth but locking the lugs and getting the bullet all the way in the chamber requires a bit of force. Basically you can't run the gun without some force and speed. Is this normal and what is the best OAL for these guns? Right now I'm running my loads @ 1.575"

Most lever guns are fairly specific about their ammo length. If you're jamming the bullets into the leade, you're probably doing your rifle an injustice.

If it requires force when it's empty it will smooth out over time or you can help it along. Mine was rough and I filled the action with white lithium grease and worked it for a couple of hours and now it will feed and eject cartridges with one finger.
