What do you recomend for lubing your revolvers? I am considering going with Otis Special Forces Dry Lube, anyone have expericence with this product?

no-brainer

As with my autos, I currently prefer and use Breakfree CLP and TetraGrease.

The only real problem with most dry lubes is, they offer little or no protection against rust.

I'm not familiar with Otis SF lube, but I'd be very careful about potential rusting.

Yes, but ...

I prefer the BreakFree LP (silver label without the cleaner) for lubrication. Also, I usually substitute TW-25B for the Tetra grease, which smells like my drawers after a three-day run.

eezox

do a search on eBay, and the listing will include links to several interesting corrosion tests Eezox came out ahead in both, with either CLP or CorrosionX second.

Eezox goes on wet, then dries. Not sticky, smells decent. Reputedly does all the C-L-P stuff. Just received mine, went out shooting yesterday. Cleaning time, used Hoppe's in the barrel as usual, then sparyed a rag with Eezox and wiped all surfaces.

Been using Break Free CLP up until now, so I had two of three. Of course, I saw CorrosionX yesterday for the first time so I bought some of that too...

I clean with CLP or Rem Oil.

Lube the slide with Tetra-Grease and internal pins & etc... with a thick oil like Mobil 1 synthetic 15W-50.

I have been using Eezox for about 5 years on all my guns. Absolutely great lubrication and no rust. And this is wet, old, Oregon. I recommend Eezox highly. :D

While not a "gun" product Duralube works nicely!

Whatever you do... do not use anything that gets sticky when cold!
Like "silly cone".

"Ultima-Lube" from Wilson Combat

Howdy,

For my revolvers and my Beretta 92's I like "Ultima-Lube" from Wilson combat. It comes in a light oil (from a handy syringe!) and a heavier grease (syringe as well).
It's great for all seasons and can get anywhere on my guns thanks to the syringe applicator.

I don't have a revolver but I use CLP Breakfree to clean stuff up and used to lube with SHeath, now use Slide Glide Lite gun grease...

Funny thread. Ask a question about lube and you will get a different answer for each person. It's kinda like asking what motor oil is best for your car. Answer: It doesn't really matter if you are changing it every 3,000 miles! Motor oil just doesn't break down that quick.

So, what gun oil do I use? Well, here goes:

Hoppes oil because I have a squeeze bottle of it.
Marvel Super oil. Also because I have a can of it.
3-in-1 oil. Same reason.
WD40.
Also have a can of Kroil for cleaning and ultra light lubing.

I have used motor-oil off the dipstick of my car before to oil the slide of my 1911 in the middle of the desert when I realized I forgot my Hoppes oil at home. I have used grease (specifcally Castrol Syn moly-fortified grease) on some of the gun internals. Works fine. Heck I use BrakeClean or Carb Cleaner to give my guns a final rinse off before a light coat of oil for protection.

Bottom line for me (and please feel free to call me a heretic if you want), there are a million good quality oils and greases out there. Find a couple you like and use em. Keep the firearm clean, use lube sparingly but often, and enjoy.

My guns get shot weekly and cleaned every other week. I have no issues it rust, no issues with jamming, and no other firearm related issues.

Again WESHOOT2 and I agree.

I use the tetra "grease"(not the gun lubricant/cleaner spray) on the ejector star, and on the crane/frame joint.

Everywhere else gets CLP.
