That is correct... I wanted a .223 from the get go, and couldn't find one. So I bought an SGL 31 (5.45) and then bumped into a guy with the 106 FR who happened to really be looking for a 5.45 so we swapped guns. I've enjoyed the AK platform so far, though I haven't even considered selling any of my AR's.

what's the fascination with the magpul afg? i have one on my ar and am not a huge fan.

I got two of them, one's on an AR and the other's on my AK74. I guess it depends on how you are used to holding the rifle but they are good for me because of a cyst in my wrist. I also HATE the vertical foregrips. They are retarded.

I use the AFG because it does not interfere with the rocking motion required to insert or remove AK magazines
