Best Long range around $2K

Im thinking about getting a .50 cal, or maybe a blaser R93LRS1 in 338 or 300.
Can anyone advise on the best .50 (around 2Grand), or ways in which the 338/300 is better/inferior? I want to set it up as a long range tactical tool.

So far, the Serbu seems like a good option for the price, but id like to know how it stacks up against the Grizzly, AR50, Barretm and State Arms options, as well as any others (never shot a .50, want to do it right the first time).

Dunno how much importance that weight and recoil play in your scenario. To make the recoil manageable, most .50s run 30 to 34 pounds. Even then, they've got a bit of thump. With the various paraphenalia to include scope, mounts and bipod, you'll wind up with some $4,500 or so in a Barrett.

Based upon my reading about what people are accomplishing, the 50s are better on out beyond 1,200 yards, for accuracy or group size.

weight is not a real concern for this one, and I'm pretty much pricing just the rifle out- the 2g's doesnt include the scope (got a nuce VariX i can use till i can get better).

Send Email to Allen at http://www.impactguns.com hit the contact button on there site. I belive you may be looking more towards $2500 for the Barrett Single and I do think you should be concerned about the wieght and the felt Impact.
If I wanted a .50 I would want the damn stock made of lead and attacted to it own crawler so all I had to do was cross hairs and pull the trigger.
