Best Handgun from SHOT?

So, over at GunUp (full disclosure, I work for GunUp as their Director of Community Relations) we started a fun little poll on what people thought was the best handgun at SHOT 2011. You can vote on it here, but what I thought was really interesting was that over the weekend, the Sig facebook page picked up the poll and ran with it, telling their fans to vote for the P290.

I voted for the Chiappa Rhino in the poll, because it was honestly the only gun that made me say "hey, that's pretty cool" when I shot it at Media Day. The trigger they had on the competition model I shot was great, and the low bore axis was worlds of sexy.

But as much as I hate to say it because my gun snob friends will disown me, my favorite gun from SHOT isn't on the poll. It was the Rossi Trail Judge, which we'll likely never see since the ATF said "that's probably an AOW". Rossi took their Ranch Hand pistols, the cut down Mare's Laig reproductions, and chambered on in .410 with a rifled barrel. I thought it was just the neatest little thing, and even though I couldn't think of a good reason to own one, I wanted it so bad I thought about trying to distract the Rossi rep and make a break for the door.

I was glad to see Colt coming back out with a Mustang.

I'm not sure what I thought about the Walther PPQ - although, I think I liked it better than I thought I would.

If the Kimber solo or the Ruger LC9 can fit in my jeans pocket, those are my pistols of the show. If they are too big for a pocket, well color me underwhelmed this year.
