Best handgun for Hogs?

No such thing - but .41, .44, .45 Colt, .454, .460. or .500 would all work real good. Seems like a lot of hunters are going with head/neck shots so if so .357 or 10mm. Ruger single or double action or S&W double action would be the most popular choices. I would use a .45 Colt Ruger Blackhawk

If you are hunting wth dogs and the shots are close, any caliber .45 acp and above will do. I shot one at point blank range with a Smith&Wesson model 625 loaded with Hornady's 200 grain XTP bullets loaded in .45 acp csses and moon clips. The bullet traveled diagonally through twelve inches of neck taking out three inches of neck bone on its way to lodging behind the jaw bone on the opposite side.

If my shots were going to be fifty to 100 yards I would use a .45 colt or a .44 magnum.

My Ruger Bisley 45LC and 44SPL come in 5.5", so that would be my choice. Hogs would be fed with hard cast 255 and 240 at around 1100-1200.
