Best gun films of all time

OK, so we've had our take on some of the worst films to come out of Hollywood for their negative aspect on guns. Now, how about some of the best. I like so many films that I have a hard time narrowing it down but here's a list of some of my favorites.

Unforgiven
The Professionals
The Shootist
Shane
Heat
The Wild Geese

This is a short list but I think these, perhaps minus a few scenes, are excellent films.

We discussed this on another thread awhile back. Perhaps someone can provide a link, so we can review, and take it from there...

Ok, I played this game last time, but its always fun.

Red Dawn-ok, come on and tell me that commie paratroopers dropping into your home town isn't every gun nuts dream. (Well now I feel justified for buying that Bushmaster!

Heat- Single best gun fight scene ever.

Ronin- Interesting selection of guns, lots of guns.

I'm tired and can't think of any more right now, but there are so many good ones.

I'd have to say off the top of my head...."Love And A .45"

------------------
"Is it getting bad out there?" "Out where?" The Trigger Effect

Have to agree with Heat and the Unforgiven, which have already been mentioned.
Also:
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Soldier (with Kurt Russell)
The Getaway (with Alec Baldwin...loved the way they preferred 1911s to DA autos...

Die Hard

HEAT! God what an incredible movie!

Cross of Iron. Another of Peckinpaugh's classics...

The Shootist & the other John Wayne movie, the one with the Gatling gun... Sons of Katie Elder?

Another western...

Pale Rider I guess I just have a soft spot for Westerns.

Almost forgot this one! Had to edit it in...

The Untouchables with Connery and Costner!

Where else can you see Colt .45s, Colt & S&W .38s, Winchester 1897 shotguns, and best of all, M1921/28 Thompson Submachine Guns!

Connery to the accountant: "You carry a badge?"

Accountant: "Yes..."

Connery, slapping shotgun into his hands: "Then you carry a gun!"

I'm renting that this weekend.

The Rough Riders--Gary Busey laughing like a madman and yelling, "I haven't had a horse shot out from under me in years!

Quigley Down Under--Two guys go down, then you hear the boom!.

Tombstone--"You're a daisy if you do."

Out of Sight--Jennifer Lopez, in a short skirt, with a twelve gauge. Yow!

Hmm, I may have to ponder further on this one.

LawDog

" Pale Rider " ,definitely. Where else ya gonna see SAA's, percussion muskets, and
cartridge-converted Remington army models in one flick? All that and good period costuming
as well! crankshaft

The Matrix - I love the Agent's Desert Eagles! And, the scene of spent shells and links raining down from the helicoptor's chain gun.

Saving Private Ryan - probably the best war movie of all time!

Red Dawn
Quigley
Matrix
Jose Wales
Die Hard
And for the SF buffs:

Starship Troopers

Nothing threatens freedom so much as self rightous ignorance.

Outlaw Josie Wales (granny and the breech loader)
The Killer (john woo)
original Star Wars (lots of old guns)
Dogs of War
The Wild Bunch
Red Dawn

Correia

Funny, the guy who sold me my BM told me jokingly what he sits in his backyard waiting for the commies like they do in Red Dawn. Sold me on the gun.

Heat rocks.

The best gun movies haven't made it to this side of the pacific. Hard Boiled it good and there are many more like it, but they will never get subtitled.

Ronin was good, but I want to know what is in the case.

GI Joe the Movie.

Ok done
