Best Finish for 1911's?

I've got a Series 80 Gvmt. Mdl., and the frame finish is starting to wear. I dont want to have to worry about it. Who does the most durable finish jobs? I dont care about the resale value as it'll never be sold, just passed down.

Something to match my Glock or M1A finish is kinda what I had in mind.

Thanks

My Systema is getting ready for a hard chrome finish.Have you looked into hard chrome(very durable).Teflon moly coating is ok too but will wear down sooner.

There is a lot of information out there on various finishes available. The 1911 Forums even has a forum on Finishes.

I just had my new Kimber finished by Robar with their Roguard on the frame and NP3 on the slide and internals. Cost around $230.

I have no experience with NP3 but all I have read is positive. I have several handguns that have been hard chromed and they are great. A handgun that has been hard chromed is very easy to clean after a range session. The hard chroming done by Virgil Tripp of STI is superb. Regards, Richard
